Alabama’s own Hannah Brown stars in this season of “The Bachelorette.”
NBC, CBS, ABC… it’s hard to flip through the channels and not find a reality show that doesn’t have someone from ‘Bama on it! Is this a good or a bad thing? I’m not sure. But in any case, we have all the latest scoop on our homegrown reality stars.
And an opportunity to be a star yourself! Or at least a guy or gal standing in the background of a flick they are shooting here! You see, dreams can come true! They can happen to you! If you listen to your old gal Boozie Boo!
So get to it!
Stokes impresses on “The Voice”
Grand Bay resident and Moss Point native Rod Stokes continued his journey as part of the Top 8 on “The Voice” Monday night, singing Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High on That Mountain.” He garnered rave reviews from the judges on how much emotion he put into the song, despite have a few issues on technicality. He is the only remaining member of Team Kelly (Clarkson), and his coach had some really nice things to say about his performance:
“The thing I love most about working with you, Rod, and this happened a lot with me and Brynn, too, in Season 14, is we would almost read each other’s minds, and we have done the same thing. I feel like that’s been my favorite part of coaching you. I feel like we’re so in sync and you just have this natural ability to just touch people in a way that few can. A lot of people can sing, but not a lot of people can move people. I think that’s what you do really, really well. I’m so happy you’re on my team and you landed here, ’cause this is home.”
Stokes also performed The Beatles’ classic, “Yesterday,” with fellow contestant Maelyn Jarmon. And they killed it! (In a good way.) The results to see if Stokes makes the finale featuring the Top 4 won’t be revealed until after press time (Tuesday night, May 14 on NBC), but his career is sure to take off now even if he doesn’t make it. We are rooting for you, Rod!
A ‘Bama Bachelorette
“Hannah B.,” a 24-year-old interior designer from Alabama debuted this week as the latest “Bachelorette” on ABC’s hit reality series, and she did not disappoint, according to Boozie’s Reality Spy. The former Miss Alabama from Tuscaloosa showed plenty of Southern charm, but also some true grit when she tossed one of her would-be suitors for allegedly coming on the show while he still had a girlfriend. Roll Tide!
Hannah, who dubbed herself “The Beast” as a contestant in the last version of “The Bachelor,” met 30 guys vying to win her heart. She also had her first high-pressure “Rose Ceremony,” culling the herd to 25 after night one. Roll Tide Roll!
Hopefully she’ll do us proud as the season moves forward and keep the RTRs to a minimum (not likely!). RS also said that in the preview of things to come this season, Hannah drops this bombshell: “I’ve had sex and Jesus still loves me.” RMFT! No telling how many grandmommas and great aunts got a case of the vapors from that pronouncement. Should be a good time.
Extra, extra! Read all about it!
The Mobile Film Office announced via Facebook the film “I Still Believe,” a biopic about Christian singer Jeremy Camp, which is currently shooting here, is looking for extras.
The film stars country music superstar Shania Twain along with actor Gary Sinise and is slated to be in theaters in March 2020. So call your agent and then head on over to istillbelievemovie.com/extras to find out how you, too, can be a star.
I mean, everyone else around here is starring on some screen – large or small – so you should too!
Well, kids, that is all I have this week. Just remember, whether dramatic or scandalous, or just some plain ol’ Jesus-approved intercourse, I will be there! Ciao!
