Date: Saturday, Nov. 2, gates at 9 a.m.
Venue: Jed’s Groove Yard, 30442 Lee Road (Spanish Fort)
Tickets: $10 suggested donation at the gate
What started as a jam session amongst a few friends has become one of the Eastern Shore’s most promising music events. JedFest 3 will bring together a diverse lineup of local bands in the name of charity and in the memory of the festival’s founder, Gerald “Jed/Chopper” Koors, who passed away shortly after last year’s festival. This year’s JedFest will dedicate its proceeds to Zachary West, who lives with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Type 1. With camping options available, JedFest 3 will feature yoga, raffles, silent auctions, face-painting, food and much more. However, the epic musical lineup will be the most appealing aspect of this event.
Jams will be in abundance at JedFest 3. Grateful Dead tribute band East L.A. Fadeaway will give the crowd a musical flashback. Jesh Yancey will be visiting from Colorado and bring his High Hopes project to the stage. Bands such as Them Again, Barstow Revival and Poarch Ninjas will entertain the crowd with their respective take on Americana.
Singer-songwriters such as Ryan Balthrop and Emily Stuckey will be joined at JedFest by a lineup of music friends. Ja’ Rhythm will bring a taste of the Caribbean to JedFest 3. Progressive blues rockers Johnny No will be donating a set. McNab Brothers will complete the lineup with their mix of classic Southern rock and blues.
