Band: Jimmy Eat World
Date: Saturday, May 18 at 5:45 p.m.
Stage: Pandora Surf Stage
For more than 25 years, Jimmy Eat World has remained a constant in the world of alt. rock. After three albums, this band from Mesa, Ariz., used its single “The Middle” from the breakout album “Bleed American” to send a blast of power pop around the globe. This success kindled a positive momentum that drove the band forward. Jimmy Eat World filled the following years with hit alt. rock anthems such as “Pain,” “Big Casino” and “My Best Theory.”
Hangout Fest 2019 will mark Jimmy Eat World’s debut at this beachside festival. Their set should be filled with classic hits and recent cuts such as “Love Never” and “half heart.” These two new songs prove that Jimmy Eat World’s longevity is based on the band’s sonic formula. These contrasting tunes portray the longtime power pop sensibilities that has gathered new fans for decades. Ultimately, Jimmy Eat World’s Hangout crowd can expect a rock ’n’ roll dance party in the surf and sand fueled by this band’s great music.
