Joe Jefferson Playhouse is looking for interested players in staging their production of the classic musical “Fiddler on the Roof.” Tryouts will be held March 30 and 31 in their facility at 11 S. Carlen St. from 6 to 9 p.m.
Auditioners should have up to 32 measures of a traditional musical theatre song prepared. If you are seeking to play a specific role, you may sing a selection appropriate for that character.
Those auditioning will be divided into groups and rotate between dance and vocal. Dress for comfort and wear appropriate shoes so you can move freely.
Once the initial groupings are completed, you may be asked to stay for additional readings or singings. An audition form should be downloaded, completed and brought to from the following address: http://tinyurl.com/paa4vw6.
Those auditioning for Tevye should be familiar with both “If I Were a Rich Man” and “Chavaleh (Little Bird).” Those auditioning for the Russian soloist will be asked to sing his solo in “To Life.” All three songs can be found in the following link: http://tinyurl.com/l3f2ckd.
