The countdown is on for fireworks! And I am not talking about the ones you will see in the sky on the Fourth of July. No, there has been some pretty explosive stories floating around here lately, and you don’t even have to light them on fire for them to sparkle.
So throw a blanket down on the lawn, pack a picnic basket and get ready for Boozie’s pre-Fourth pyrotechnics.
‘Kindergarten Cop’ star arrested
Mobile’s own Richard Tyson, who starred in such works as “Kindergarten Cop” with Arnold Schwarzenegger and the TV series/cop drama “Hardball,” was arrested last week for public intoxication and harassment.
Boozie’s spies hear the evening in question may have all started at a drinking establishment on Government Boulevard, as many situations that involve a series of really bad decisions do.
Though every news outlet has mentioned Tyson’s role in “Kindergarten Cop,” Boozie would like to point out his finest work was still in the soft porn “Two Moon Junction.” RRRROOOOWWWW!
In any case, we hope he gets things back on track soon and heads back to Hollywood. People love a good comeback story!
Flippin’ out
Last weekend, my spies went out for a little boat ride on Dog River on Saturday. They launched their vessel at Dog River Park and had a lovely time, but when they returned to the launch they said they were at first concerned someone may have drowned or something because everyone was standing on the landing looking out at the water very concerned. They quickly learned no one was dead… yet. It seems a guy on a wave runner was doing flips over and over again, and other acrobatics on the thing, causing many of the assembled folks to think he may be insane.
It’s probably less dangerous than it looks but my spies said they were pretty sure he was going to break his neck, but he did not (at least in their presence).
Getting the axe in MiMo
A pastime that has gained popularity in other cities is coming to Mob-town. Strong Arm Axe Throwing announced plans to open later this summer in the historic Blue Bird Hardware building, just across from UMS-Wright Preparatory School.
It’s exactly what it sounds like – you throw an axe at a target (not an ex) for fun! There are rules and you can play competitively or just casually.
These establishments have become quite popular in many other larger cities and the owners are hoping Mobilians will embrace the trend as well.
Well kids, that’s all I got this week. Just remember, whether rain or shine, dramatic or scandalous or some plain ol’ axe throwin’ lovin’, I will be there. Ciao!
