The Azalea City should celebrate when a local musician stays active not only on the local level but also on the national level. Singer-songwriter Kristy Lee could be considered one of the area’s most active artists. With soulful sound so deep that one could happily drown in it, Lee has taken her homegrown music far and wide alongside notables such as G. Love & Special Sauce and Zac Brown Band. Recently, Lee was seen having a post-show jam with G. Love and Keb Mo.
After being what she describes as “very reclusive and extremely over domestic” during a well-deserved break from touring, Lee has decided to do a last-minute show at the OGD’s favorite watering hole. Veterans of Lee’s live shows know she usually performs at bigger venues such as Soul Kitchen or The Hangout. This will be a chance to get one-on-one with Lee and her music. Local fans should take advantage of this show and her BayFest appearance in October. After the festival, she is planning a trip down under for an Australian tour with Hussy Hicks.
