Airbus has appointed Laurent Blattner as President of Airbus
DS Military Aircraft, Inc. (ADSMAI).
In this role, Blattner will lead a 70+ person operation in Mobile, Alabama as it continues to
increase its service and support capabilities in maintenance, repair and overhaul of various
Airbus military aircraft and components.
Blattner’s most recent position was with Airbus Services as CEO of Cassidian Aviation
Training Services SAS and Aviation Defense Service. During his 10 years as CEO, Blattner
was dedicated to flight operations, tow targeting, electronic warfare and training support for
the French Ministry of Defence and other European countries. In this role, he was
accountable for a fleet of 150 aircraft and managed a team of 200 employees.
Prior to joining Airbus, Blattner served 28 years in the French Air Force as a colonel where
he was in charge of maintenance units dedicated to fighter aircraft. For two of these years he
served as an exchange officer at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida.
Blattner succeeds Juan Uriarte, who has been CEO for ADSMAI in Mobile since 2014. Uriarte is returning to Airbus in Europe.
In 2011, ADSMAI opened a new 7,500-square-foot component repair facility, expanding on its 30,000-square-foot maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) delivery center in Mobile.
