Elle Woods fits the stereotype of “sorority girl” to a bright pink tee. When she enrolls in Harvard Law School to win back ex-boyfriend Warner, the last thing on her mind is a career. Woods stumbles across the possibilities for good works in the profession and some of the dilemmas, but stays the course in discovering a better path for herself and those around her.
The light-hearted romp was most famously a film starring Reese Witherspoon, but the Broadway version was nominated for seven Tony awards. Over the pond, the West End production was even better received, grabbing three Laurence Olivier Awards from its five nominations.
