The Leinkauf Historic District Neighborhood Organization will be raising funds for Leinkauf Elementary School at its Scholastic Book Fair March 7-11. Forty percent of the funds raised during the book fair, which is open to the public all week, goes toward books for the school.

This high poverty school is currently very much in need of books for its classrooms and library. In addition to funds raised during the fair, our neighborhood association has pledged an additional $1,000 for books plus an additional $1,500 gift provided by the association.

Principal Dr. Quentina Pruitt, Leinkauf Elementary students, and Clifford the Big Red Dog kicked off the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair to be held March 7-11 with a gift of $1,500 presented by Dr. Richard Gentry on behalf of the Leinkauf Historic District Neighborhood Organization (LHDNO). In addition to the book fair, the neighborhood organization is raising book funds for the school with a Leinkauf Architectural Walking Tour on March 5th. The walking tour and book fair are the first of many events in March, such as the 47th Annual Historical Homes Tour, as the neighborhood and Mobile celebrate Leinkauf History Month.
