The Military Officers Association of America’s (MOAA) South Alabama Chapter will recognize exceptional local cadets at their Annual ROTC Recognition Banquet Thursday, May 14 from 6-9 p.m. at Heron Lakes Country Club.
Since being formed 88 years ago, MOAA has grown to more than 380,000 members representative of active duty, National Guard, Reserve, Retired and former commissioned and warrant officers. Members are of the Army Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy, Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
The organization actively plays part in military personnel matters, especially regarding the retired community, veterans of the uniformed services and legislation affecting career force.
This year MOAA will commend cadets from the University of South Alabama, Spring Hill College and University of Mobile Air Force and Army ROTC programs. Cadets of JROTC representing Army and Navy programs will also be recognized from several local High Schools, including Baker, Blount, Bryant, Chickasaw, Citronelle, Davidson, LeFlore, Montgomery, Murphy, Rain, Satsuma, Theodore, Vigor and Williamson. Baldwin County, Daphne and Robertsdale High Schools are supported by the South Alabama Chapter of MOAA as well.
MOAA invites the public to attend the recognition banquet. Dinner reservations are $25 per person. Those interested can contact CPT Phillip Gabriel at 251-545-9394 or firstname.lastname@example.org no later than May 7.
