On Fri., Oct. 3, BayFest will open its gates for a 20th anniversary celebration. BayFest attendees who are looking to start their weekend off with a party should look no further than the Miller Lite Stage.
At 6:45 p.m., local hip-hop icons 2 Major Twinz will take the stage. Comprised of brothers Whitney and Wesley Grant (also known as Major Wordz and Major Hazzard), this duo is sure to get the crowd on its feet and moving with a batch of locally grown hip-hop.
This group exploded onto the scene with their single “Mardi Gras Song.” Since this single’s release, 2 Major Twinz has continued to entertain crowds across the Azalea City and beyond. Even though it as been awhile, this will be the fourth time that 2 Major Twinz has appeared at the festival. According to Whitney Grant, this hip-hop outfit could not be happier to perform at “Alabama’s largest music festival.”
“BayFest presents a unique opportunity for us to have our name on the same ticket as big name music artists and the ability to network with the artists,” Grant said. “The whole atmosphere makes you feel good, especially being on the stage and the crowd is feeling your music.”
Their BayFest appearance will mark the release of their album “Legends of the Gulf Coast.” The duo will have copies for purchase at BayFest. Otherwise, this release can be purchased on iTunes, CD Baby and CD Warehouse in Mobile.
As far as getting the party started, Grant promised that they would not let the BayFest crowd down.
“The crowd can expect a hype show that’s mostly up-tempo,” Grant explained. “There will also be some crowd interaction, especially when we perform the ‘Mardi Gras Song’ to close the show. We will be tossing moon pies and beads!”
