Man arrested with meth could be in U.S. illegally

Posted by Jason Johnson | Dec 15, 2015 | Latest, News | 0 |

A man from Mexico, believed to be in the country illegally, was arrested on Tuesday in Mobile County with three kilograms of crystal meth.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s office said a traffic stop on Interstate 10 eastbound led to the arrest of Pedro Gicasso Garcia at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday in Mobile.

Police say a special operations unit made the arrest after discovering 3 kilograms of “ICE” crystal methamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $350,000.

Garcia has been charged with trafficking illegal drugs and has been detained at the Mobile County Jail. The arrest record lists an address in Houston, Texas, but officers with MCSO say they believe Garcia may not be a legal U.S. citizen.

In the release published on Tuesday, Garcia’s birthplace is listed as Mexico.
