Mayor Sandy Stimpson is proud to appoint Jamie Ison and James Fowler to the Mobile Airport Authority.
Ison is currently a realtor for LLB&B Real Estate, Inc. and was previously a state representative for Alabama House District 101. Prior to her tenure in the State House, Ison served as the Director for the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind’s Mobile Regional Center. She is also a longstanding member of several Mobile area civic organizations, including: the Rotary Club of Mobile, the Junior League of Mobile, the Mobile Judicial Commission and the Mobile and Alabama associations of Realtors where she serves as the Federal Political Coordinator.
“Jamie’s dedication through the decades will be an asset as Mobile takes flight into a new age of aerospace,” Stimpson said in a statement. “Her leadership will be tremendous as we continue to create an active, accessible airport with multiple destinations and low fares.”
Fowler is the Assistant Vice President of Cooper/T. Smith Corporation. Prior to returning to his home state of Alabama, Mr. Fowler served as Operations Manager for Crescent Towing in New Orleans, Louisiana, one of the nation’s largest ship-assist tug service providers. He has also worked in the management of various stevedoring and maintenance operations at Cooper Consolidated in Darrow, Louisiana, the largest midstream cargo transfer company in the United States. Fowler is currently a member of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Rotary Club of Mobile, the American Waterway Operators and the Order of Fuse (Fuse Project).
“James will be a valuable member of the team, and I am confident he will play a key role as we establish Mobile as a hub for aviation,” Stimpson said. “The sky is not the limit for Mobile!”
The Mobile City Council unanimously approved both appointments today during the regular City Council meeting.
