Mayor Sandy Stimpson is encouraging citizens to participate in an upcoming town hall meeting on tourism hosted by the Mobile Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The event, which features a panel of national tourism leaders, is scheduled for Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Mobile Convention Center. Admission is free.
“I encourage anyone who wants Mobile to become a premier destination to attend this town hall,” Stimpson said. “CVB President Al Hutchinson and his team have brought together the industry’s top leaders to educate our community on becoming a tourism town. How we present Mobile to the world has been a priority in my administration since day one, and I am looking forward to having a candid conversation on Mobile’s future.”
Participating panelists will be: Michael Gehrisch, president and CEO of Destination Marketing Association International; John Graham, president and CEO of American Society of Association Executives; Deborah Sexton, president and CEO of Professional Convention Management Association; Peter Pantuso, president and CEO of the American Bus Association; Paul Van Deventer, president and CEO of Meeting Professionals International.
