Investigators with the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department are investigating the cause of two overnight house fires that occurred Thursday, May 21.
The first occurred at 4062 Pringle Drive at approximately 2:24 a.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene to report smoke coming from the roof. Once inside they discovered fire in the kitchen area and were able to quickly extinguish it.
The fire was caused by a water heater. No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at approximately $10 thousand.
The second fire occurred in a small, unoccupied structure located at 2058 Stockton Drive at approximately 3:35 a.m. Firefighters arrived to report that heavy fire was coming from the structure. No occupants were discovered during the search of the structure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The structure was a total loss.
