The mother of a middle school student in Mobile is facing charges after she and her daughter allegedly assaulted two underage students shortly before classes started Monday morning at Booker T. Washington Middle School.

According to a report from the Mobile Police Department, 37-year-old Laquanna Seals was arrested after the assault of two students caused the school to briefly go into lockdown Oct. 3.

The victims, who police only identified as 14-year-old and 15-year-old students, sustained minor injuries, but Seals was arrested after police responded to the scene around 7:24 a.m.

Mobile County Jail Records indicate Seals was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault Monday morning but has since been released.
