Hamilton & Co. recently assisted in the sale of a multitenant building at 1751 Old Shell Road in the Old Dauphin Way Historic District of Midtown Mobile. The 8,450-square-foot property is currently occupied by White House Antiques and Bellator Real Estate & Development. The property was purchased by local investors for $425,000 and will be managed by Hamilton & Co. Jeremy Milling with Milling Commercial Realty worked for the seller.
“We are excited to complete this transaction and are very optimistic about the growth of the Historic Midtown area. We are especially pleased with the plans for the Historic Old Shell Road School’s restoration and conversion to apartments and other improvement plans in the immediate area,” Lewis H. Golden, broker at Hamilton & Co., said.
Boost Mobile, retailer of mobile devices and services, has leased a 1,100-square-foot retail space in Han Plaza at 5696 Tillman’s Corner Parkway in Mobile and is expected to open in July. Angela McArthur, Stirling Properties broker associate, handled the transaction.
Taziki’s recently signed a lease for a 3,000-square-foot restaurant space inside Legacy Village, according to Buff Teague and Allen Garstecki of JLL, which leased the center. The owner plans to open the second franchise location in the area by early 2017. Jeff Barnes with Stirling Properties worked for the tenant.
Sleep Center has leased 6,000 square feet of retail space at Eastern Shore Plaza, 10200 Eastern Shore Blvd. in Spanish Fort. Angela McArthur with Stirling Properties represented the property owner and Buff Teague with JLL worked for the tenant. The retailer is expected to open in the fall of 2016.
According to Joey Betbeze of Betbeze Realty, $2.1 million was spent by Newport News, Virginia-based Ferguson Enterprises on an 11-acre property that includes a 54,000-square-foot building formerly home to the 84 Lumber Co. The site is situated at 5371 Hamilton Blvd. in Theodore.The new owner plans to use the facility for its industrial pipe subsidiary.
Netpoint IT Services has leased 1,650 square feet of office space at the ARIC Building, 1111 Hillcrest Road in Mobile. It is expected to open in early July. Jill Meeks, senior sales and leasing executive with Stirling Properties, represented the property owner’ Shabbir Hossain of Star Rentals and Property Management worked for the tenant.
Addus Healthcare has renewed its lease on a 2,866-square-foot office space in the 808 Building located at 808 Downtowner Boulevard in Mobile. Jill Meeks with Stirling Properties worked for the property owner. NAI Geis Realty Group of Wayne, Pennsylvania, represented the tenant.
A 13,000-square-foot building near the intersection of Rangeline Road and Interstate 10 was bought by a local investor for $670,000, according to Pratt Thomas with the Merrill P. Thomas Co. Plans are in place for the new owner to lease the space in the near future.
Nails by Princess Salon has leased 1,560 square feet of floor space at the Forum Shops located at 3385 Schillinger Road in Semmes, with an anticipated occupancy date of the end of September. Jill Meeks with Stirling Properties handled the transaction.
The Bar B Que Stop recently leased 800 square feet of restaurant space in Town West Village, 5701 Moffett Road, according to Amber Dedeaux of Vallas Realty, who represented the landlord. Carliss Eaton of Keller Williams worked for the tenant. The new barbecue eatery is expected to open sometime in August.
Per Sharon Wright with White-Spunner Realty, a gas station and convenience store sitting on roughly a half acre in the heart Spring Hill, at the corner of McGregor Avenue and Old Shell Road in Mobile, was recently picked up by local investors for $1.2 million. Wright worked for the sellers in the transaction.
Handmacher appointed to USA Advisory Board
Stirling Properties commercial real estate company announced in a news release that Nathan Handmacher, senior sales and leasing executive, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the University of South Alabama’s Center for Real Estate and Economic Development.
The USA Center for Real Estate and Economic Development and the Real Estate Program select members of the local real estate industry to serve on the Advisory Board. Their mission is to achieve a high-quality educational program and real-world experience for USA students, respond to educational and informational needs of the local real estate community and offer a curriculum that is nationally competitive.
Handmacher has been active in the commercial real estate business more than 12 years. He has experience in all facets of the industry, including tenant representation, commercial sales and leasing, asset and property management, development and investment sales. In addition to providing brokerage services, Handmacher currently manages a diverse portfolio of more than 600,000 square feet of retail, office and industrial property.
A native of Montgomery, Handmacher graduated from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia with a degree in marketing. He currently lives in Fairhope with his wife and children and is very active in the community.
