Mobile Museum of Art Director Deborah Velders made it a goal to pull more citizens into the museum for more reasons and she’s certainly made huge strides in that direction. Now, the free Thursday nights are ready to show off another new element with a selection of artisan work for tongue, ears and eyes.
The first Night Market gets underway Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. There will be an array of vendor tables peddling wares from local artists. Also present will be booths supplying info on Langan Park neighbors Mobile Botanical Gardens and Mobile Japanese Gardens.
At 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. there will be demonstrations from local glass artists as well as Sumi-e experts.
Fairhope-based singer/songwriter Emily Stuckey is scheduled to perform. The Geaux Boy food truck, featuring Southern-Creole food, sandwiches and salads will be on hand.
