Citing coming extreme weather this afternoon, both Baldwin and Mobile County Public Schools have decided to close early today.
In both counties public schools are closing at 12:30 p.m. and buses will run. Mobile County Schools based the decision on advice from the Mobile County Emergency Management Agency, according to spokesperson Rena Havner-Phillips.
She said Mobile schools should reopen as usual tomorrow. But parents should check the system’s website or be alert to media updates if anything changes.
Baldwin County also said the intend to have school open at normal times tomorrow unless otherwise announced. Catholic schools in the area will remain in session until 3 p.m. but have announced the cancelation of all after school care and activities.
