The 92 Zew’s “Road to the Hangout” concert series continues with an up-and-comer from Austin, Texas, and a local favorite. Mobile’s The Underhill Family Orchestra will act as the evening’s opener. As a participant in 92 Zew’s “Reach the Beach” contest, this sonic collective will give a stellar performance, as the try to earn a spot on the Hangout Fest line-up.
However, stellar performances are not uncommon for this band. With their raucous, unique brand of folk rock and unparalleled command of the stage, The Underhill Family Orchestra always provides their audiences with a memorable experience. The denizens of The Hangout are sure to catch tracks off of the band’s latest release “Stories of Appalachia Proper.”
Sons of Fathers will be representing the music capital of the Lone Star State. This headliner will be the perfect partner to Underhill Family Orchestra. These purveyors of what they call “Americana Indie Rock” are marked by their exquisite harmonies and energetic acoustic work.
Sons of Fathers have been getting a lot of attention through their latest album “Burning Days.” Producer Lloyd Maines (Joe Ely, Mother Tupelo) guided this group throughout the album’s creation. Ultimately, he described the band as “The Everly Brothers Meets Neil Young and Merle Haggard and The Clash.”
