Mayor Sandy Stimpson and Mobile Fire-Rescue officials will be distributing over $11,000 in donations to several area cancer research programs and/or treatments centers at the Mobile City Council meeting tomorrow. The donations are made possible through the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department’s annual “Pink Heals: Fighting for a Cure for Cancer” T-Shirt sales.
This is the fifth year the department has been doing the fundraiser which is held during the month of October.
The organizations that will be receiving donations are as follows:
USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital – $500
USAMC – $500
Breast Friends Forever – $500
American Cancer Society – $500
Project Faith Cancer Group – $1,200
Providence Hospital Breast Cancer – $1,000
Springhill Hospital Cancer Center – $1,350
USA-Mitchell Cancer Institute – $5,500
