A joint operation between the Mobile County Street Enforcement Narcotics Team and the Mobile Police Department has yielded its second drug bust in as many days — this time removing marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription pills from the streets.
On Feb. 4, the MCSENT concluded an investigation by conducting an operation at a motel room at Econolodge off of the I-65 Service Road. There authorities made a single arrest and seized over half a kilo of marijuana, several grams of methamphetamine, over 150 non-prescription tablets used for methamphetamine production, prescription narcotics, a illegally possessed firearm and $600 in United States currency.
Cedric Deshaun Banks, 29, of Eight Mile, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, first degree possession of marijuana, possession of precursor chemicals and possession of firearm by certain persons forbidden.
According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Department’s records, Banks has an extensive criminal history that includes previous charges related to drug possession and firearm violations.
