Leonard Bernstein is a true giant of American music. A composer, conductor, musician, author and lecturer, the maestro parlayed his fame at the podium for the New York Philharmonic into an esteemed career in Hollywood. Perhaps most renowned for his work on “West Side Story,” Bernstein had a Tony award, an entire shelf of Grammy awards and was a fellow on the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
MSO Conductor Scott Speck will lead the orchestra and violin soloist Adele Anthony through Bernstein works such as the overture from “Candide,” Serenade and Symphonic Dances from “West Side Story.”
Tickets are $20 – $65. Students K-12 enjoy free admission to the matinee when accompanied by a paying adult. Just download Big Red Ticket from the MSO website.
