Hailing from Tulsa, John Moreland has overwhelmed American music with his poignant, handcrafted songs. His organic take on rock ‘n’ roll has allowed him to quickly become one of modern music’s most promising new artists.
In 2013, Moreland was able to expand his listening audience as an opening act for Jason Isbell. He also had a little help from the FX show “Sons of Anarchy” with his tracks “Heaven,” “Gospel” and “Your Spell” being featured on the popular television series.
Moreland will be performing in support of his latest studio album “In the Throes.” The singer-songwriter delves deep into the Midwestern psyche with 10 reflective tracks. “In the Throes” is definitely an album full of ballads. Moreland gently pens aural poetry that drips of human emotion. He introduces the album by putting the listener into the lazy sway of the opening song “I Need You to Tell Me Who I Am.” The album continues this calm, cool vibe through each track. With this formula, Moreland’s performance should be a good way to ease into the work week.
