Mobile police officer Cynthia Thomas was removed from the force following a unanimous decision by a trail board of the Mobile Police Department Nov. 12.

As all these charges are major violations, the board recommended Thomas be dismissed from service with the Mobile Police Department. Chief Barber and Mayor Sandy Stimpson concurred with the findings of the Board.

Thomas has the right to an appeal through the Mobile County Personnel Board, at which time details surrounding the events of her dismissal would be made available.

Thomas served the MPD for over 20 years.
