Mobile police are currently seeking help from the public to identify people they believe to have stolen checks from an elderly woman’s mailbox.

Multiple checks were stolen from the woman’s mailbox between June 1 and June 4, according to MPD spokesman Officer Terence Perkins.

Since that time, the females have been making purchases with the stolen checks, Perkins said.

UPDATE: According to police, officers have identified, interviewed and arrested 39-year-old Antionette Michelle Greene-Evans. Greene-Evans was charged with second degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and transported to Mobile County Metro Jail.
