Local fans of the underground sometimes have a hard time finding fresh punk sounds in the Azalea City. While Naked Intruder’s Deke Purple is on paternity leave, the other band members are offering full compensation. Under the name Future Hate, this configuration will perform songs from its self-titled debut. From the manic riffs of the opening song, “Plinko,” Future Hate offers no quarter for its audience. Lead singer Miranda Pixley’s vocals highlight this album with a voice that embodies the spirits of Kat Bjelland (Babes in Toyland) and Selene Vigil (7 Year Bitch).
NoLa’s Liquor & Lies will keep the energy at maximum capacity with its set. Liquor & Lies’ performance will also be a homecoming for Dean Burrito. In addition to his work with Les Turdz, Burrito was a member of Mobile’s controversial punk outfit Hotcakes!, known for its insane stage antics. The Unsatisfied will be traveling to Mobile from Chattanooga with a load of underground sounds.
