One doesn’t think of Russian literature as a source for laughs but then again there’s not many of us like Neil Simon. The American playwright took several of the short stories of 19th century dramatist Anton Chekhov and brought them together as this hit stage play about a writer who is blocked and contemplating his own artistic temperament. Never have seduction, anger and suicide been so entertaining.
Director Scotty White is looking for men and women aged 21-80 eager to portray interesting characters. Prepared monologs are welcome, but not required. Scripts will be provided as well. No previous theatrical experience necessary.
The show will run July 24 – 27, 30 and 31, Aug. 1 – 3. For more information about auditions, contact production manager Teri Odell at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the theatre at 928-4366.
