Band: New Kingston
Date: Sunday, May 19 at 6 p.m.

Hangout Fest could not happen without a healthy dose of reggae. Bands such as The Wailers, Easy Star All-Stars and Toots and the Maytals have all contributed unforgettable sets to Hangout Fest’s history.
This year, New Kingston will join the list of iconic reggae acts that have graced a Hangout stage. This Garden State band will maintain a residency on the Alabama Newscenter Sunset stage. And, New Kingston’s Sunday evening set will be the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the sunset before the festival’s grand finale.
New Kingston’s latest single “Fyah Nuh Hot Like You” is a great introduction to this band’s sound. This album is highlighted by its smooth, soothing beats and hypnotic vocals. However, this single’s most powerful aspect is its mix of old-school and new-school reggae vibes. This facet of the New Kingston’s sound is something that they have maintained since the beginning. This should be the perfect soundtrack for soaking up that final taste of sun before it plunges into the Gulf of Mexico.
