Mobile Opera holds its annual Grand Opera Ball in order to generate funds to benefit their organization. Unfortunately, an unforeseen mishap has forced Mobile Opera to cancel the 2013 event. However, New Orleans piano virtuoso Ronnie Kole is uniting with John Weichman and his restaurant The Italian Fisherman on Old Shell Road for a benefit to help generate funds for the Mobile Opera. This will also serve as Ronnie Kole’s last performance at The Italian Fisherman for 2013.

Kole is an iconic figure of the NOLA jazz scene, and his reputation as a talented pianist is known worldwide. He made his way to New Orleans under the tutelage Al Hirt. He performed in Hirt’s Bourbon Street club before opening his own (Kole’s Korner). In addition, he is the fifth person to be inducted into the New Orleans Musical Legends Park, where a bronze statue of Kole resides.

Kole’s work on the keyboard will instantly transport his fans at The Italian Fisherman from Midtown Mobile to the classic days of the NOLA jazz scene.
