The Baldwin County Judicial Commission released the names of the attorneys who are nominees for consideration to fill the vacant Baldwin County District Judge position in the 28th Judicial Circuit, recently vacated by Judge Scott Taylor which became vacant effective June 22. The Commission will accept public comments until 3 p.m. on June 29.
Comments may be submitted to the Commission by letter addressed to J. Langford Floyd, Chairman, at 312 Courthouse Square, Bay Minette, Alabama 36507, or via e-mail at email@example.com.
The nominees are Brian Dasinger, Thomas Pilcher, Richard Davis Jr., Virginia “Ginger” Poynter, Donald D. “Wayne” Doerr Jr., Matt Simpson, Michaelyn Gober, William Scully Jr., Kyle Henderson, Clark Stankoski and Mary Murchison.
The Commission will meet June 29 to select three of the nominees for submission to Gov. Robert Bentley. The governor, within 30 days after receipt of the nominations, will select one nominee from the list to fill the vacancy. If the governor fails to make a selection within 30 days of the vacancy, the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court will make the appointment from the same list of nominees. The appointee will hold the office until the next general election.
