October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Azalea City has gone azalea pink. In recent years, a strengthening public campaign has gone to great lengths to bring more focus to this deadly disease. Some wear pink attire, and others choose to dye their hair pink.
A great number of musical events have also been thrown to raise awareness of breast cancer and this month O’Daly’s is hosting one of its own.
LoDa’s Irish pub is bringing one of the most legendary bands in modern music history for their “Wearing Pink with the Wailers” concert, with proceeds benefitting cancer research.
The music of Bob Marley has transcended decades. With each new generation, a new crop of fans fall in love with the positive reggae legacy he created. However, Marley was not the only person involved with creating his timeless classics. His longtime band The Wailers were alongside helping spread the love and today, they continue to bring his music to the people.
Of all Bob Marley’s albums, “Legend” has been the most prolific. This album usually serves as a starting point for many people’s journey into the world of reggae. 2014 marks the 30th anniversary of this iconic album. In celebration, The Wailers have been performing this album in its entirety, and their performance at O’Daly’s will be no different.
