After giving a false tip during an initial investigation, a woman from Eight Mile was arrested and charged with the murder of a man she shares a home with Thursday afternoon.
Mobile County Sheriff’s Deputies say Tina Isler, 33, has been charged with the murder of Michael Ray Fowler, who died on the scene of a reported shooting on Valhalla Drive in Eight Mile.
According to an MCSO spokesperson, deputies responded to the scene shortly after 12:20 p.m., June 30, where they discovered Fowler near a vehicle suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest.Isler, who police say lives with Fowler, initially claimed to have witnessed an unknown white male shoot Fowler at a separate location before driving him to the area on Valhalla Drive.
However, multiple witnesses later told MCSO investigators Fowler was standing outside of Isler’s vehicle and leaning in the passenger side door when Isler open fire on him with a .22 caliber pistol.
After being taken in for questioning, Isler is said to have admitted being the only other person present when Fowler was shot with her pistol, which was also recovered at the scene.
Though it’s unclear at this point if Isler has formally confessed to shooting Fowler herself, she has been charged with murder and was booked into the Mobile Metro Jail Thursday afternoon.
According to the MCSO, the investigation into Fowler’s death is still ongoing.
