Heart rocked the 1970s with classic hits such as “Barracuda” and “Magic Man.” Siblings Ann and Nancy Wilson fronted this band with a power and fury on par with their male contemporaries. In the decades that followed, Heart lost no momentum. The group continued to give their fans hit singles such as “These Dreams” and “What About Love,” as well as numerous full-length albums.
Now, Heart is using its 16th studio album, “Beautiful Broken,” to give fans two new tracks as well as new musical interpretations of previously released songs. The band uses a majority of the album to showcase reworked songs from its catalog that the Wilson sisters feel have been lost to obscurity. In an effort to musically refresh these songs, Heart revisits tracks from albums such as “Passionworks,” “Bébé le Strange” and “Private Audition.” Metallica’s James Hetfield even lends his vocals to an alternate version of the album’s title track, which was originally featured on Heart’s 2012 album “Fanatic.”
