Nashville’s Great Peacock has made great friends with the regulars in the OGD. Over the years, Callaghan’s has hosted the beloved band as they have grown beyond the boundaries of the Southeast.
Blount Floyd and Andrew Nelson are at the foundation of this earthy musical project and finding their muses in classic country and folk, fill their songs with plenty of twang and harmony. However, they have also taken their homespun qualities and interwoven them with elements of complementary rock.
In 2013, Great Peacock released a five-song, self-titled EP on the This Is American Music label. It quickly began to gather an army of listeners as Floyd and Nelson found themselves performing at SXSW and on “CMT Edge Live”
In late 2013, Great Peacock released their new single “Tennessee.” On March 14, Nelson posted on the band’s official website that the band had been busy tracking their first full-length album, but didn’t mention an official release date. Hopefully, Great Peacock will regale their OGD fans with some new material.
