A new cigar lounge is coming to downtown Mobile next month.
The Planning Commission, on Thursday, unanimously approved an application to allow a cigar lounge with a 122 person occupancy load at 258 Dauphin St., the building formerly known as Dahlia’s piano bar.
Owner Larry Scott said Lit Cigar Lounge will have a full bar and walk-in humidor. It will have a “cool, laid back atmosphere” with sofas, chairs and an 18-seat bar.
Scott plans to obtain a business license from the city early next month and open no later than the weekend before Mardi Gras.
The Planning Commission briefly pondered if a sprinkler system would be needed for the building because the lounge would seat more than 100 people. Since the former facility had the same 122 person occupancy, Scott said, it appears sprinklers will not be needed.
The lounge will be open Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
