Walking Iris brings together a trio of talented women from the Mobile Bay area. While these three will be familiar faces to some, this group’s music is sure to generate a following. Emily Stuckey fronts Walking Iris and lays an acoustic guitar foundation for the band’s music. Katrina Kolb joins Stuckey. When it comes to upright bass, Kolb is one of the best in the area, and her passion on stage demonstrates her love for her instrument. Amanda Donald completes Walking Iris’s lineup. Donald’s multi-instrumental talents have been witnessed through stints with Fat Man Squeeze and The Krickets.
Of course, Walking Iris will have acoustic versions of a number of crowd favorites. However, this group does not want to stop at covers. Video segments on social media reveal that the trio is working on original songs as well. As far as the band’s sound is concerned, the members of Walking Iris are doing what they do best. Their preview is filled with beautiful acoustic work and angelic three-part harmonies. Hopefully, Walking Iris will reveal some of their original songs at Manci’s. This Eastern Shore institution’s warm, cozy atmosphere will be a perfect environment to get introduced to these three powerhouses.
