A legion of bands clad in colorful spandex, covered in makeup and sporting Aqua Net hair overtook the airwaves with their pop metal sounds in the 1980s. Poison could be considered the epitome of glam metal. With songs such as “Talk Dirty to Me” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” this group dominated rotations on radio stations across the nation. Bret Michaels contributed his potent vocals and impressive stage presence to Poison’s repertoire.
Decades after the members of Poison parted ways, Michaels is still a very busy man. He has released six solo efforts, most recently “True Grit.” Michaels has spent just as much time in front of the camera as he has the microphone, with his “Rock of Love” TV series gathering viewers for three seasons. In addition to “Rock of Love,” Michaels has appeared on “Full Throttle Saloon,” “American Pie Presents: The Book of Love” and “The Penguins of Madagascar.”
