A Mobile Police Department investigation netted nearly $20,000 worth of drugs and more than $125,000 in seized cash.

On Oct. 23, the M.C.S.E.N.T. Unit concluded an investigation into the sale of synthetic marijuana at two local businesses, which were not identified by police.  Searches of the properties led to detectives finding 4.35 pounds of synthetic marijuana, which is valued at $19,690.

Officers also seized $124,094.84 in cash and a 2002 Ford F150 truck. Property and cash can be seized by police if there is suspicion that they were obtained through illegal means.

Detectives were able to arrest Mahmond Ali Haifa for two counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Arrest warrants have also been signed for Pawan Khadgi for Trafficking in Illegal Drugs.
