Police have identified a 15-year-old as the victim in a shooting at a Popeyes Chicken in Downtown Mobile as the 2016 Mardi Gras celebrations came to a close Feb. 9.

This afternoon, police identified 15-year-old Amir Parker as the victim of the shooting that was reported just before 7:30 p.m. the evening of Fat Tuesday.

A few blocks West of the Mardi Gras celebrations — near the intersection of Conti and Scott streets — police found Parker’s body in the rear of the Popeyes parking lot on Tuesday evening after responding to reports of gunshots in the area.

According to authorities, Parker was suffering from at least one gunshot wound when he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He later succumbed to those injuries.
