Mobile Police are investigating a sexual assault case involving two men that occurred at the Moorer YMCA in downtown Mobile on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene at about 2:30 p.m. The victim said he didn’t know the man that assaulted him, according to a statement.
MPD Spokesman Terence Perkins said both adult men were members of the YMCA and the assault took place inside the facility’s building.
Perkins said police know the identity of the person accused of the assault, but charges have yet to be filed.
“Hopefully we’ll have a resolution to this next week,” Perkins said. “It’s still pretty early on in the investigation.”
Mark Hanke, YMCA of South Alabama CEO, said he couldn’t comment on the incident further, pending an investigation.
