A 71-year-old man is in custody after he robbed BankCorp on Airport Boulevard on Monday afternoon.
Vernon Riley entered the bank at approximately 2:15 p.m. and claimed he had a weapon, but never revealed one. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, said Mobile Police Public Information Officer Terrence Perkins.
Police stopped Riley’s vehicle a few blocks from the bank, after a vehicle description was released.
Riley was also arrested for an outstanding bank robbery warrant with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
