Police on the Eastern Shore are looking for an unknown gunman who robbed a Waffle House in Daphne in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to the Daphne Police Department, the man entered the Waffle House on U.S. Route 90 shortly before 3 a.m., June 12, brandishing a weapon.
Police say he fired a round into the ceiling and then took cash from the register and car keys from one of the customers.
In security footage from the restaurant, the suspect appears to be a slender, black male in black clothing with a red bandanna covering his face.
He is armed with what appears to be an AK-47 or some type of variant.
A shell casing recovered at the scene was a 7.62, which is an AK round.
The suspect was not able to escape with the customer’s vehicle and is believed to have fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.
Police were unable to locate him during an extensive search Wednesday morning. He remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
Police are also looking for a vehicle captured on surveillance footage dropping the suspect off at the restaurant.
It’s described as an older model Chevrolet or GMC truck with distinctive markings.
The truck is multicolored and did not have a rear bumper in the captured footage.
