Mobile County election officials have announced a change in venue for those voting in Precinct 64 during the Nov. 8 general election. The polling place, which has previously been located Mae Eanes Middle School, will be relocated to the New Generation International Church at 998 Dauphin Island Parkway — less than a mile from the original location.
“The new polling location is just south of and across the street from the Bishop State Southwest Campus,” said Commissioner Merceria Ludgood. “It’s easily accessible right on Dauphin Island Parkway.”
So far, there’s been no official reason stated for the relocation of the polling place, though Mae Eanes Middle School was permanently closed by the Mobile County Board of Education in May.
For those unsure of their polling location, the Secretary of State John Merrill’s office maintains a searchable database on its website, which is available here. Voters are also reminded to bring a photo ID to the polls, which will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
