A portion of Fairhope Avenue between Bishop Road, next to the Fairhope Satellite Courthouse and south of Fairhope Intermediate School, and County Road 13 will be closed Sept. 15. City crews will be working to replace a culvert beneath the roadway. The road will remain open during morning school traffic but will close as soon as school is in session and may be closed for the remainder of the day.
Parents picking up students that afternoon will be ask to arrive from the west, coming from the Hardee’s intersection. Access through the barricades will be allowed only for those who live within the road closure area.
Fairhope police officers will be on hand during the project to help with traffic flow and all detours will be clearly marked.
In the event of rain, the project will be begin on Sept. 16.
For questions or concerns about the project, call Fairhope Public Works Department at 251- 928-8003 and for information on the school traffic patterns, call Fairhope Intermediate School at 251-928-7841.
