Venue: Facebook Live through the Marlow Boys page, facebook.com/marlowboys
The spread of the coronavirus has forced Callaghan’s Irish Social Club to suspend its live music until the end of the crisis. For years, Phil & Foster (Phil Proctor and Stan Foster) have maintained a Wednesday night residence at this beloved neighborhood pub. With this weekly gig on a hiatus, Proctor and Foster will be bringing their other musical project to Facebook Live. The two will be joining cousins Karl and Joe Langley for a special online performance from the Marlow Boys. The four-man group will be broadcasting from the confines of the enigmatic Green Room.
According to the event info, this performance will be “kinda intimate, kinda unplugged and kinda loose” and feature “some old favorites and a few new ones.” The Marlow Boys have two original albums (“Green Room, Vol. 1” and “Green Room, Vol. 2”) from which to pull the set. If these two albums represent the band’s upcoming performance, then listeners can expect a versatile lineup of songs. Both of these albums are built upon a foundation of countrified roots rock. With all the talent this band has to offer, the Marlow Boys will be making the most of this stream with two hours of warm acoustic runs and positive vibes.
