Cordovas will be filling the Brickyard with a country rock sound pulled from the ’70s. This Nashville quintet has thrived from the lineup’s dedication to music. With the members all living under the same roof, Cordovas have spent countless hours focusing on the timeless qualities of this classic sound and making it their own. Cordovas will be coming to the Brickyard with tracks from the band’s debut on ATO Records, “That Santa Fe Channel.”
Cordovas’ studio collaboration with producer Kenneth Pattengale (The Milk Carton Kids) resulted in a nine-song collection that is a flashback to the glory days of the Grateful Dead. Each measure is brimming with sugary layers of gentle vocal harmonies. These harmonies are matched with warm arrangements filled with smooth twang, somber drums and bright keys. All the while, each song provides a snapshot of life through vivid, earnest lyrics. If the live performance of these tracks are anything like the studio versions, then Brickyard patrons can expect an impressive show.
