Band: Benefit for Charles Clements
Date: Sunday, August 22 at 1 p.m.
Venue: The Blues Tavern, 2605 Halls Mill Rd., www.bluestavern.webs.com
Whether it is one of their own or just a person in need, many Azalea City musicians do not hesitate to perform in the name of charity. As such, four bands are set to use their musical talents to generate funds for Charles Clements.
After losing his home to Hurricane Sally, Clements learned that Stage 4 Mesothelioma had spread throughout his lungs. With a family household to maintain as well as medical expenses, Clements’ family is asking the public to spend a day at the Blues Tavern in the name of charity. A raffle will be held with a television set serving as one of the big prizes. Chicken plates will also be available for purchase. All funds generated will be used for Clements’ medical and living expenses. Those unable to attend this event can still help. A GoFundMe page has been created and can be accessed by searching “Help Charles Clements and Family.
This benefit will feature four rocking powerhouses that will be playing the hits throughout the day. The August Band will be reuniting for this event. The impression this band has made on local fans can be seen at one of their electrifying reunions. Blues Tavern regular Doobious will be on hand with a set that should crowd the dancefloor. Cosmic Viper will spend their time on stage performing rocking crowd favorites. With numerous memorable performances along the Alabama Gulf Coast, Spaces in Between will complete this charitable musical concoction.
