Alanna Royale has definitely made her presence known in Mobile, and what a presence it is. With a powerful vocal delivery and muses rooted in the soul sounds of the ‘60s, Royale has been a standout at events such as the SouthSounds Music Festival and the Joe Cain Footmarchers’ Ball.
However, Royale is not the only memorable aspect of her performance. She is backed by a talented lineup that includes a stellar horn section. Royale and her crew will be filling the OGD with sounds off of her debut full length album “Achilles,” which will be released just days before her Callaghan’s performance.
Royale has chosen “Animal” as the album’s first single. This song captures the swaggering stomp rhythm that echoed throughout the glory days of Motown. Royale moves in slow and easy with vocals that are sensually seductive and powerful. The hook brings an onslaught of horns and groovy riffs, which complete this classically inspired track.
