Local investors recently bought the 3-story building housing Serda’s Coffee Co. located at 3. S. Royal St. in downtown Mobile for $1,070,000.00 from Serda’s Properties, LLC. The transaction was a sale-leaseback and the well-known local coffee brewer has signed a long-term lease to remain open at the site as part of the deal.
The property totals 9,600-square-feet with the second and third floors currently available for lease. Pete Riehm with NAI Mobile represented the buyers in the transaction and Gavin Bender, Jr., with Bender Real Estate Group worked for the sellers.
“This sale puts us one step closer towards opening Serda Brewery,” owner John Serda said. Currently the company is looking at commercial property in downtown and midtown Mobile for potential sites for the new microbrew pub. Government tax incentives for downtown construction are still in place. Estimated timelines for opening the brewpub have been pushed back several times according to Serda, but he agreed that an opening date is still feasible within 18-to-24-month timeframe.
